Waar onze reis begon

Onze reis begon in 1999, vanuit een diepe betrokkenheid bij de verpleging en ouderenzorg. In mijn werk in de uitvoerende zorg zag ik iedere dag hoe waardevol aandacht is, echte aandacht. Niet gehaast, niet tussen de regels door, maar de tijd. En tegelijk merkte ik hoe vaak die ruimte er niet was. Zorg is noodzakelijk en prachtig, maar het tempo en de beperkte minuten laten weinig ruimte voor het persoonlijke stuk dat het leven mooier maakt.

The idea was: this can be done differently and must be done better. But, making a promise is one thing; making it happen is, of course, something entirely different. That is why I decided to build, step by step, a way of providing support that is closer to people: warm, familiar, small-scale, and tailored to the individual rather than tailored to the system (read: the reimbursements). From this foundation in private nursing under the banner of the Lindeborgh, Gea Thuis was born. An organization that revolves not around protocols, but around people. Where a single, dedicated support worker makes all the difference. Where families are relieved of their burden. And where seniors can once again experience peace, structure, and joy in their own environment.

Vandaag staan we nog steeds voor datzelfde uitgangspunt:
persoonlijke ondersteuning die oprechte aandacht geeft, ruimte brengt en het leven makkelijker maakt, voor senioren, mantelzorgers én zorgprofessionals.

And every single day, we dedicate ourselves with great pleasure to proving that care can not only be well-organized, but also warm, human, and close.
